Mountaineering the Alps

A beautiful video that begins with a helicopter taking the mountaineers to the base of the Swiss Alps near the Matterhorn, follows some of their climb, and shows lots of gorgeous scenery. It’s a lot more scenery than mountaineering, but that’s okay—the view is incredible and it’s worth the watch.

he Swiss climate is generally temperate, but can vary greatly between the localities, from glacial conditions on the mountaintops to the often pleasant Mediterranean climate at Switzerland’s southern tip. Summer tends to be warm and humid at times with periodic rain so it is ideal for pastures and grazing.
