Getting around in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Here’s a raw video of and by some Americans who traveled to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.  In this six minute video, you’ll join these tourists as they visit markets and other everyday spots, especially navigating the streets in pedal-power taxis.  Ho Chi Minh City is the largest city in Vietnam and is located near the Mekong River delta.  The metropolitan area which consists of Ho Chi Minh city metro area, Bien Hoa, Thu Dau Mot and surrounding towns has more than 9 million people, making it the largest metropolitan area in Vietnam and Indochina.

Oriental destinations have always tempted me but surprisingly I never went to any of them, except this year. I want to try something new and see the difference.

I found the streets difficult enough to navigate on foot. Loved my time there though. One tip when crossing the road is to keep on walking once you’ve committed yourself. The many hundreds of motorbikes will just weave around you.

That was the best bit of advice the receptionist in my Ho Chi Minh City hotel gave me after I checked in.
